As an avid user of iTunes, you may have come across the term “iTunes Authorized” at some point. But what exactly does being “authorized” mean, and why is it important to know? This article will explain what iTunes Authorized is, how to use it, and why it’s essential to your iTunes experience.

What is iTunes Authorized?

When you purchase or download content from iTunes, it is protected by Digital Rights Management (DRM), which ensures that the content is only accessible to the user who has the proper permissions to do so. In other words, DRM makes sure that you can’t share your purchased music, movies, or TV shows with just anyone.

iTunes Authorized refers to the devices that are authorized to access the content you’ve purchased from iTunes. Every iTunes account is allowed up to five devices to be authorized. These devices can include your computer, iPhone, iPad, iPod, or Apple TV.

Why is iTunes Authorized important?

If you’re using iTunes on a device that is not authorized, you won’t be able to access any of the content you’ve purchased. That’s why it’s important to know which devices are authorized, and how to manage them.

Additionally, if you plan on sharing your iTunes library with family members or friends, you’ll need to make sure their devices are also authorized. You wouldn’t want to deny them access to the latest movie you just purchased, would you?

How to Use iTunes Authorized

Now that you know what iTunes Authorized is and why it’s important, let’s take a look at how to use it.

First, you’ll need to open iTunes and go to the Store menu. From there, select “Authorize This Computer.” You’ll be prompted to enter your Apple ID and password.

Once you’ve entered your credentials, your computer will be authorized to access your iTunes content. You can repeat this process for up to five devices.

To see which devices are currently authorized on your account, go to the Store menu and select “View Account.” From there, select “Manage Devices” under the iTunes in the Cloud section. You’ll see a list of all the devices that are currently authorized, and you can remove any that you no longer use.

Conclusion

Being aware of iTunes Authorized can save you a lot of headache and hassle down the road. Knowing which devices are authorized and how to manage them ensures that you’ll always have access to the content you’ve purchased from iTunes.

To sum it up, iTunes Authorized refers to the devices that are authorized to access your iTunes content. You can authorize up to five devices, and it’s important to keep track of them to avoid any issues. If you ever need to add, remove, or manage your authorized devices, simply go to the Store menu in iTunes and follow the on-screen instructions.
