Important Android Auto Settings You Should Tweak ASAP

Android Auto is a popular mobile application that makes it possible to use your smartphone while driving. With this app on your phone, you can control music, phone calls, messaging, navigation, and other essential features. However, to get the best experience out of Android Auto, you need to tweak some critical settings.

Here are some important Android Auto settings you should tweak as soon as possible:

  1. Enable “Do Not Disturb While Driving”

This feature prevents notifications from distracting you while driving by silencing calls, text messages, and alerts from apps. You can enable this feature by going to Settings → Sound → Do Not Disturb.

  1. Customize Voice Commands

With Android Auto, you can use voice commands to control your phone without taking your eyes off the road. However, you can enhance the feature by customizing the voice commands. To do this, go to Settings → Voice → OK Google detection, and then customize the voice commands.

  1. Turn On Wi-Fi

If you have a car that supports Wi-Fi, you can stream music, use the internet, and browse your phone’s contents without using mobile data. To enable Wi-Fi, go to Settings → Network and select the Wi-Fi network of your choice.

  1. Adjust Audio Settings

The audio settings in Android Auto can help you get the most out of your car’s audio system. You can adjust the equalizer, bass, and treble to enhance music quality. To access these settings, go to Settings → Sound → Audio.

  1. Control App Permissions

Sometimes, you may want to restrict access to some apps while driving. For example, you may want to limit access to social media or games. To control app permissions in Android Auto, go to Settings → Apps → App permissions.

  1. Enable Night Mode

Driving at night can be challenging, especially if your phone’s screen is too bright. With night mode enabled, your phone’s screen adjusts to a darker theme that’s easier on the eyes. To enable night mode, go to Settings → Display → Display mode → Night mode.

  1. Set Navigation Preferences

If you’re using Google Maps or Waze on Android Auto, you can set navigation preferences like avoiding tolls, highways, or ferries. To access these settings, go to Settings → Navigation.
