The Fast and Furious franchise has been a long-standing favorite among action movie fans. With so many movies in the series, it can be overwhelming to know where to start. In this article, we’ll provide some tips on how to watch the Fast and Furious movies in order.

1. The Fast and the Furious (2001)

The original movie that kicked off the franchise is a must-watch. It introduces the main characters, including Brian O’Conner (played by the late Paul Walker) and Dominic Toretto (played by Vin Diesel). The movie revolves around illegal street racing and features thrilling car chases and action scenes.

2. 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003)

The sequel to the original movie follows Brian O’Conner as he teams up with childhood friend Roman Pearce (played by Tyrese Gibson) to take down a drug lord in Miami. The movie introduces new characters and adds to the franchise’s overall mythology while still staying true to the street racing theme.

3. Fast and Furious (2009)

Fast and Furious brings back the original cast and reunites Brian and Dom as they work together to track down a drug lord. The movie is a direct sequel to the first film and is essential to understanding the overall storyline.

4. Fast Five (2011)

Fast Five takes the franchise to a new level as the team plans a heist in Rio de Janeiro. The movie introduces Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s character, Hobbs, and sets the stage for the rest of the series.

5. Fast & Furious 6 (2013)

In the sixth installment, the team faces off against Owen Shaw, a former special forces soldier, and his team. The movie also introduces Letty (played by Michelle Rodriguez), who was presumed dead but has now resurfaced as Shaw’s partner.

6. The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006)

The timeline of this movie takes place after the events of Fast & Furious 6 but before the events of Fast & Furious 7, so it’s essential to watch it now. The movie follows Sean Boswell (played by Lucas Black) as he learns the art of drifting in Tokyo.

7. Furious 7 (2015)

Furious 7 sees the team face off against Deckard Shaw (played by Jason Statham), the brother of Owen Shaw, who seeks revenge against the team for what they did to his brother. The movie also marks the final appearance of Paul Walker, who tragically passed away during its production.

8. The Fate of the Furious (2017)

The Fate of the Furious sees Dom betray his team and work with a new villain named Cipher (played by Charlize Theron). The movie also introduces a new character, Deckard Shaw’s sister, Hattie (played by Vanessa Kirby).

In conclusion, watching the Fast and Furious movies in order is crucial to understanding the overall storyline, character developments, and relations between the different characters. While watching in order can be time-consuming, it’s definitely worth it for any fan of the franchise. Get ready to strap in for an epic ride full of fast cars and action-packed adventures.
