With the increasing popularity of Chromebooks, many users have been wondering if it is possible to use Skype on their devices. The good news is that it is now possible to use Skype for Chromebook by following some simple steps.

First, you need to ensure that you have the latest version of Chrome OS installed on your device. You can do this by going to the settings menu, clicking on the About Chrome OS option, and checking for updates. Once you have updated your device, you can proceed to download the Skype app from the Google Play Store.

After downloading the Skype app, you will need to set up your account. If you already have a Skype account, you can sign in with your existing username and password. If you don’t have an account, you will need to create one by clicking on the “Create account” option and following the provided instructions.

Once you have signed in to your account, you can start using Skype on your Chromebook. You can use Skype to make voice or video calls, send instant messages, and share files with your friends and family members.

To make a call on Skype, you will need to select the contact you wish to call and click on the video or audio call button. To send an instant message, you can simply type your message in the chat box and hit send.

Skype also allows you to share files with your contacts. To share a file, you will need to click on the “Share screen” option and then select the file you wish to share. Your contact will receive a notification that you have shared a file with them and can then download the file for themselves.

Overall, using Skype on a Chromebook is a simple and straightforward process. With just a few clicks, you can connect with your friends and family members from anywhere in the world. If you’re looking for a reliable communication tool that works well on your Chromebook, Skype is definitely worth considering.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
