Shazam is a popular music discovery app that allows you to identify songs by simply holding your phone up to the audio source. However, did you know that Shazam also has a Chrome extension that can help you identify songs on the web? Here’s how to use Shazam’s Chrome extension to identify songs.

Step 1: Install the Shazam Chrome Extension

The first step is to install the Shazam Chrome extension. You can do this in a few simple steps. First, open Google Chrome on your computer. Then, visit the Chrome Web Store and search for ‘Shazam’. Once the Shazam extension appears, click on ‘Add to Chrome’ and follow the prompts to install it in your browser.

Step 2: Enable Microphone Access

Next, you’ll need to enable the Shazam extension access to your computer’s microphone. To do this, click on the Shazam extension icon in your Chrome toolbar and select ‘Options’. From there, you can enable microphone access in your Chrome settings.

Step 3: Identify Songs

Now that the Shazam extension is installed and microphone access is enabled, you can start identifying songs on the web. Simply visit the webpage where the song is playing, click on the Shazam extension icon and press ‘Start’. The extension will listen to the audio and identify the song for you.

Step 4: View Song Information

After identifying the song, the Shazam extension will display its information in a pop-up window. This includes the song title, artist name, and album information. You can also listen to a preview of the song or open it in your preferred music streaming service.

Bonus Tip: Use Shazam with Other Apps

Another great feature of the Shazam Chrome extension is that it works with other apps. You can open the Shazam extension while listening to music on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, or any other music streaming service. This makes it easy to identify songs and add them to your playlists.

Conclusion

Using the Shazam Chrome extension is a quick and easy way to identify songs on the web. With just a few clicks, you can find out the name of a song and discover new music. The extension also works seamlessly with other music apps, making it a must-have tool for any music lover.
