As the world becomes increasingly digitized, more and more people find themselves multitasking on their computers. Whether it be for work or leisure, Windows 10 delivers a feature that allows users to stay organized and increase productivity: multiple desktops.

This feature allows users to create different desktops for different tasks. For instance, you can have one desktop for work-related applications and another for entertainment purposes. This article will give you a step-by-step guide on how to use multiple desktops in Windows 10.

Step 1: Open Task View

To open Task View, click on the Task View icon located on the taskbar or use the keyboard shortcut: Windows Key + Tab.

Step 2: Create a New Desktop

To create a new desktop, click on the “New Desktop” button, located at the top left of the Task View screen.

Step 3: Switch Between Desktops

To switch between desktops, click on the Task View icon or use the keyboard shortcut, Windows Key + Tab, and then click on the desktop you want to switch to.

Step 4: Move Applications Between Desktops

To move an application from one desktop to another, go to Task View and locate the window of the application you want to move. Click and hold on the window and drag it to the desktop you want it to go to.

Step 5: Close a Desktop

If you no longer need a desktop, you can close it down by going to Task View and hovering over the desktop you want to close. Click on the “X” button located at the top right of the screen.

Step 6: Customize Keyboard Shortcuts

To customize the keyboard shortcuts for switching between desktops, go to “Settings,” then “System,” and then “Multi-tasking.” From here, you can customize your keyboard shortcuts for easy accessibility.

With the feature of multiple desktops in Windows 10, you can save time and stay organized for effective multitasking. It can be useful for both personal and professional use. Remember to make use of the keyboard shortcuts to enhance your user experience.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
