If you’re an Instagram user, you know how important it is to post regularly to keep your followers engaged. However, not everyone has the time to post content frequently. The good news is that you don’t need to spend hours manually posting every day. With scheduling tools, you can save time while keeping your content fresh and consistent.

In this article, we’ll walk you through how to schedule Instagram posts and reels for free using the mobile app.

Step 1: Convert Your Instagram Account to a Business Account

To use Instagram’s scheduling features, you’ll need to have a business account. If you’re already using Instagram for your business, skip to step two. Otherwise, follow these steps to convert your account:

1. Go to your Instagram profile and tap the three horizontal lines in the top right corner.

2. Tap Settings, then Account.

3. Tap Switch to Professional Account.

4. Follow the prompts to set up your business account.

Step 2: Connect Your Instagram Account to a Scheduling Tool

There are several scheduling tools available, including Later, Planoly, and Hootsuite. In this article, we’ll use Later as an example. Here’s how to connect your Instagram account to Later:

1. Download the Later app on your smartphone.

2. Sign up for a free account and log in.

3. Tap the three horizontal lines in the top left corner of the app.

4. Tap Instagram Profile, then Connect Instagram.

5. Enter your Instagram username and password.

6. Follow the prompts to authorize Later to access your Instagram account.

Step 3: Schedule Your Instagram Content

Now that your account is connected to Later, you can schedule your Instagram posts and reels. Here’s how:

1. Tap the + icon in the bottom left corner of the app.

2. Upload a photo or video from your camera roll or Later’s media library.

3. Edit your photo or video as desired.

4. Under Scheduling, choose the date and time you want to post.

5. Hit Save.

6. Repeat the process for all of the content you want to schedule.

Step 4: Post Your Scheduled Content

Once your content is scheduled, Later will send a notification to your phone when it’s time to post. Here’s how to post your scheduled content:

1. Open the Later app on your smartphone.

2. Tap the content you want to post.

3. Tap Post Now.

4. Follow the prompts to post your content on Instagram.

Congratulations, you’ve successfully scheduled your Instagram posts and reels for free using the Later app!

Final Thoughts

Scheduling your Instagram posts and reels is a great way to save time and improve your content strategy. By following these simple steps, you can streamline your Instagram marketing efforts and focus on other aspects of your business.
