Windows 11 has introduced several new features, one of which is the weather widget on the taskbar to keep users updated on weather conditions. While this can be useful for some people, others may find it less helpful and prefer to remove it. The good news is, removing the weather widget is a simple process.

Here are the steps to follow to remove the weather widget from the Windows 11 taskbar:

Step 1: Right-click on the taskbar

In order to begin, right-click on the taskbar at the bottom of your screen.

Step 2: Choose ‘News and interests’

When you right-click on the taskbar, a drop-down menu will appear. Look for the option ‘News and interests’ in the list and hover over it with your mouse.

Step 3: Select ‘Hidden’

After hovering over the ‘News and interests’ option, another drop-down menu will appear with three options – ‘Show icon and text’, ‘Show icon only’, and ‘Hidden’. Click on ‘Hidden’ to remove the weather widget from your taskbar.

Once you have chosen ‘Hidden’ the weather widget will disappear from your taskbar.

Additionally, if you want to re-add the weather widget at a later time, you can follow the same steps and choose ‘Show icon and text’ or ‘Show icon only’ from the ‘News and interests’ menu.

In conclusion, removing the weather widget from the Windows 11 taskbar is a simple process that can be done in just a few clicks. While the feature can be useful for some users, others may find it unnecessary and prefer to keep their taskbar clutter-free. With the steps outlined above, it is easy to remove and add back the weather widget at any time.
