YouTube is one of the most popular video streaming platforms and as we all know, it’s a video sharing platform by default. However, in many cases, while we’re watching a video or listening to music, we need to use another application simultaneously, for instance, check our emails, use social media, or read an article. In this instance, playing YouTube in the background on your phone comes in handy.

Here’s how to play YouTube in the background on your phone:

1. Use the YouTube App (Android and iOS)

The YouTube app on both Android and iOS devices has a feature called Picture-in-Picture (PiP). The PiP option allows you to play a video in a small window that remains on top of other apps. To activate the PiP mode, you need to follow these steps:

• Find a video on YouTube and start playing it
• Swipe up to navigate to the home screen
• The video will automatically continue playing in a PiP window

2. Use the YouTube website

If you don’t want to use the YouTube app, you can use YouTube in a web browser on your phone to play videos in the background. Here are the steps to do this:

• Open a web browser on your phone
• Go to YouTube.com
• Find the video that you want to play
• Once you press the play button, the video will start playing in the browser
• Now, minimize the browser or navigate to another app
• The audio of the video will continue to play in the background

3. Use a third-party app

Lastly, there are several third-party apps that allow you to play YouTube in the background. Some of these apps include:

• Musi
• YouTube Vanced
• Firefox with Adblocker Add-on
• Titanium TV

Overall, if you want to play YouTube videos in the background while using other apps on your phone, these options will definitely come in handy. Just remember to follow the simple steps outlined above and enjoy your multitasking experience with your device.
