In this article, we will show you How to Map a Network Drive on Windows 11.

Step 1: Open File Explorer

To map a network drive on Windows 11, first, you need to open File Explorer. You can access it by clicking on the “File Explorer” icon on your Taskbar or by pressing the Windows key + E.

Step 2: Select “This PC” from the left-hand side panel

In the left-hand side panel, you will see different options for drives and folders. Click on “This PC” to see all the drives that are currently connected to your computer.

Step 3: Click on “Map network drive”

Next, you need to click on the “Map network drive” option located on the top ribbon of the File Explorer window. This will open the Map Network Drive Wizard.

Step 4: Select the drive letter you want to assign to the network drive

In the Map Network Drive Wizard, you will see an option to select the drive letter you want to assign to the network drive. You can choose any available drive letter from the drop-down list.

Step 5: Enter the network location of the drive you want to map

Now, you need to enter the network location of the drive you want to map. This can be either the IP address or the computer name of the computer that has the drive connected to it. For example, if you want to map a drive on a computer named “PC1”, you would enter “\PC1” in the “Folder” field.

Step 6: Select the “Reconnect at sign-in” option

If you want the network drive to be mapped automatically every time you log in to Windows 11, you need to select the “Reconnect at sign-in” option.

Step 7: Enter your username and password

If the computer you are trying to connect to requires authentication, you need to enter your username and password for that computer in the appropriate fields. If the computer does not require authentication, you can simply click on “Finish” to complete the process.

Step 8: Click on “Finish”

Finally, you need to click on the “Finish” button to complete the process of mapping the network drive. The network drive will now be available in File Explorer, and you can access it just like any other drive on your computer.

Conclusion

Mapping a network drive on Windows 11 can be a really useful way to access files and folders on another computer or on a network-attached storage (NAS) device. It’s a relatively simple process that can be completed in just a few steps, and once you’ve mapped a network drive, you can access it just like any other drive on your system.
