How to Freeze Rows and Columns in Google Sheets
Google Sheets is a versatile tool for creating and managing spreadsheets, but sometimes it can be challenging to keep track of information when scrolling through a large amount of data. That’s where freezing rows and columns can come in handy. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to freeze rows and columns in Google Sheets.
1. Open your spreadsheet in Google Sheets.
2. Click on the row or column that you want to freeze. For example, if you want to freeze the top row, click on the number 1 on the left-hand side of the screen.
3. Click on the “View” tab in the top toolbar.
4. Select “Freeze” from the dropdown menu.
5. Choose either “Up to current row” or “Up to current column” depending on whether you want to freeze rows or columns.
6. Your selected rows or columns will now be frozen in place, and you can scroll through the rest of your spreadsheet without losing sight of them.
It’s important to note that you can only freeze rows or columns up to a certain point. For example, if you freeze rows 1-3, you won’t be able to see rows 4 and beyond while scrolling through your spreadsheet.
To unfreeze your rows or columns, simply click on the “View” tab again and select “Unfreeze” from the dropdown menu.
