Windows 11 is the latest operating system from Microsoft, which is equipped with amazing features and enhanced performance. However, despite these advancements, many users encounter the issue of “Undoing changes to your computer” in Windows 11.

This error message is frustrating, especially if you have important work or documents to attend to. But don’t worry, as there are various methods you can utilize to fix this issue.

Let’s take a look at some of the most practical solutions to resolve the “Undoing changes to your computer” problem on Windows 11.

Method 1: Unplug All External Devices

One of the primary reasons for the “Undoing changes to your computer” issue on Windows 11 is the external devices connected to your system. Disconnect all external devices such as printers, USB drives, external hard drives, and other hardware devices. Then, restart your system and verify if the problem has been resolved.

Method 2: Disable Automatic Startup Repair

Sometimes, the operating system attempts to resolve the issue by executing automatic startup repair every time it boots up. Here’s how to disable automatic startup repair:

Step 1: Open the Command Prompt from the Start menu.

Step 2: Input the following command: bcdedit /set {default} recoveryenabled no

Step 3: Hit the Enter key to execute the command.

Step 4: Restart your Windows 11 system and check if the issue has been resolved.

Method 3: Run SFC Scannow and CHKDSK

SFC Scannow and CHKDSK are Windows utilities that can fix various system issues. Here’s how to use them:

Step 1: Open the Command Prompt.

Step 2: Enter the command sfc /scannow and press Enter. Wait for the process to complete.

Step 3: Run CHKDSK by entering the following command chkdsk C: /f /r.

Step 4: Wait for the process to finish, restart your Windows 11 system and check if the issue has been resolved.

Method 4: Restore the System

If none of the above methods works, you can try to restore your Windows 11 system to a previous state. Follow these steps:

Step 1: Open the Settings app on your Windows 11 system.

Step 2: Select Update and Security.

Step 3: Click on Recovery and select Reset this PC.

Step 4: Choose the option to Keep your Files.

Step 5: Follow the prompts and wait for the process to complete.

Conclusion

“Undoing changes to your computer” issue in Windows 11 can be frustrating, but the above methods can help you considerably. Try each method and choose the most convenient one that works best for you. However, if the problem persists, you may want to seek help from Microsoft support.
