The Surface Pro is a popular and powerful tablet that users often depend on for everything from work to entertainment. However, it can be incredibly frustrating when your Surface Pro won’t charge. Fortunately, there are a few simple steps you can take to troubleshoot and fix the problem.

Step 1: Check the Power Source

The first step in fixing a Surface Pro that won’t charge is to check the power source. Ensure that the charging cable is plugged in securely to both the tablet and the power source, and that the power outlet itself is functioning correctly. Try plugging the cable into a different outlet or USB port, or even try a different power cable altogether.

Step 2: Check the Charging Cord

If the power source is working properly, the next step is to check the charging cord itself. Make sure that the charging cord is not damaged or broken in any way, and that the cable is not kinked or twisted. A damaged or broken cord may need to be replaced, but try using another cord if possible just to confirm that the charging issue is not with the cord.

Step 3: Check the Power Adapter

Another potential cause of charging issues with a Surface Pro is a bad power adapter. The adapter may have become damaged or may no longer be providing enough power to effectively charge the tablet. If possible, try using a different power adapter, preferably one that is designed specifically for the Surface Pro.

Step 4: Check the Battery

If none of the above steps have resolved the issue, then it’s possible that the Surface Pro’s battery may be damaged or may have reached the end of its life. If the Surface Pro is still under warranty, then the manufacturer may be able to replace the battery for free. Alternatively, you can take your Surface Pro to a reputable repair shop to have the battery replaced.

Conclusion

In summary, if your Surface Pro won’t charge, first check the power source, charging cord, power adapter, and battery to determine the cause of the problem. It’s important to remember that charging issues can have various causes, so it’s best to try these steps one at a time until you find the solution that works for you. With a little patience and troubleshooting, you can get your Surface Pro charging again and back to full functionality.
