Android is a versatile operating system used by millions of people around the world. Whether it’s for business or entertainment, Android offers a wide range of functions that make it an ideal choice for users. One of these features is screen recording that allows users to capture their device’s screen activity for future reference. However, some Android devices do not have a screen recording feature built-in or enabled. In this article, we’ll go over how to enable the hidden screen recorder in Android.

Before proceeding with the instructions, it’s important to note that not all Android devices support screen recording. Additionally, some methods may not work on all Android devices, and the steps may vary based on the device manufacturer and Android version.

Method 1: Using Quick Settings

Quick Settings is a feature in Android that provides users with easy access to various settings, including screen recording. Here’s how to enable screen recording using Quick Settings.

Step 1: Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the notification panel.
Step 2: Swipe down again to access the Quick Settings panel.
Step 3: Tap the “Edit” icon (pencil) in the bottom right corner of the screen to modify the Quick Settings tiles.
Step 4: Scroll down until you see the “Screen Record” tile.
Step 5: Drag and drop the “Screen Record” tile to add it to the Quick Settings panel.
Step 6: Tap the “Screen Record” tile to start recording.

Method 2: Using ADB Commands

ADB (Android Debug Bridge) is a command-line tool that allows users to communicate with their Android device from a computer. Here’s how to enable screen recording using ADB commands.

Step 1: First, enable USB Debugging on your device. To do this, go to “Settings,” then “About Phone.” Tap on “Build Number” seven times to enable Developer Options. Back in Settings, go to Developer Options, then turn on USB Debugging.

Step 2: Connect your Android device to the computer using a USB cable.

Step 3: Open a command prompt or terminal window on your computer.

Step 4: Type in the command “adb devices” to see if your device is connected and recognized.

Step 5: Type in the following command to enable screen recording: “adb shell settings put global settings_screenrecord_long_press 1”

Step 6: Press the power button on your device until the power menu appears.

Step 7: Press and hold the “Screen Record” option until the recording starts.

Conclusion

Screen recording is a useful feature that allows users to capture their device’s screen activity, whether it’s for demonstration or reference purposes. By following the above methods, you can enable the hidden screen recorder on your Android device. However, it’s important to remember that not all Android devices support screen recording, and your device’s settings may vary based on the device manufacturer and Android version.
