Gmail is one of the most widely used email services globally, and it offers several features that make it more appealing to users. One such feature is read receipts, which lets the sender know whether their message has been opened by the recipient. This article will guide you through the process of enabling read receipts in Gmail.

Step 1: Open Google Chrome

First of all, you need to ensure that you have Google Chrome installed on your computer. If you don’t have it, you can download it from the official Google Chrome website. After downloading and installing it successfully, launch the browser.

Step 2: Log into your Gmail account

Once the browser is open, log into your Gmail account. On your Gmail account page, select the “Gear” icon located at the top right corner.

Step 3: Select “Settings”

From the drop-down menu that appears, select “Settings.”

Step 4: Click on the “Advanced” tab

Under the “Settings” menu, click on the “Advanced” tab.

Step 5: Enable read receipts

Scroll down to find the “Read Receipts” section. You can either have read receipts enabled for all incoming messages or only for particular messages. To enable read receipts for all messages, select the “Allow read receipts” option. If you want to enable read receipts for specific messages, select the “Ask before sending” option.

Step 6: Save your changes

After selecting your preferred option, click on the “Save Changes” button to save your configuration.

Conclusion

Enabling read receipts in Gmail is a straightforward process that can be done in a few steps. By following the steps outlined above, you can ensure that you always know when your emails have been opened by your intended recipient. This feature is extremely helpful for business people who want to track their emails’ progress and ensure that they are receiving the intended responses.
