Many times, we need to access application data folders and modify the files stored in them. But, some folders are protected and require special permissions to access them. In this article, we will show you how to enable special permissions to access application data folders.

Step 1: Open File Explorer

The first step is to open File Explorer on your computer. You can search for “File Explorer” in the Start Menu or press “Windows Key + E” on your keyboard.

Step 2: Navigate to the Application Data Folder

Next, navigate to the application data folder you want to access. The location of the application data folder varies from application to application. You can find the location of the application data folder in the application’s settings or help documentation.

Step 3: Right-click the Folder and Select Properties

Once you have located the application data folder, right-click on the folder and select “Properties” from the context menu.

Step 4: Click on the Security Tab

In the Properties window, click on the “Security” tab.

Step 5: Click on the Edit Button

Under “Group or user names,” select the user account that needs special permissions. Click on the “Edit” button.

Step 6: Select the User Account and Click on the Full Control Check Box

In the “Permissions for [username]” window, select the user account that needs special permissions. In the “Permissions” section, click on the “Full Control” check box.

Step 7: Click on the Apply Button

Step 8: Click on the Ok Button

After applying the special permissions, click on the “Ok” button to close the “Permissions for [username]” window.

Step 9: Click on the Ok Button

Finally, click on the “Ok” button to close the Properties window.
