As iPhone users, we often find ourselves in situations where we regret sending a message or realize that we’ve made a typo. Fortunately, Apple has included a feature that allows us to edit or unsend messages on iPhone. Whether you’ve just sent a message with a mistake, or you want to take back a message that you regret sending, there are a number of ways to edit or unsend messages on iPhone.

Here’s a guide on how to edit or unsend a message on iPhone.

How to edit a message on iPhone

  1. Open the Messages app and find the conversation you want to edit.
  2. Tap and hold the message you want to edit.
  3. A menu will pop up with a few options. Tap on “Edit” to make changes to the message.
  4. Edit the message to your liking.
  5. Once you’re finished editing, tap “Done” to save the changes.
  6. The edited message will now appear in the conversation.

Note: You can only edit messages that haven’t been read by the recipient.

How to unsend a message on iPhone

  1. Open the Messages app and find the conversation you want to unsend a message from.
  2. Locate the message you want to unsend and tap and hold on it.
  3. A menu will appear with different options. Select “More”.
  4. From the new menu that appears, tap on “Unsend” to remove the message from the conversation.
  5. A pop-up will ask you to confirm whether you want to unsend the message. Tap on “Unsend” again to confirm.
  6. The message will be removed from the conversation and the recipient will see a “This message was unsent” notification in its place.

Note: You can only unsend a message within a certain timeframe. After a short period of time, the option to unsend the message will no longer be available.

Conclusion

Editing or unsending messages on iPhone can be a lifesaver in certain situations. Whether you need to make a correction or take back a message, these simple steps can help you do it quickly and easily. So the next time you find yourself in a messaging predicament, don’t panic – just follow these steps and you’ll be able to fix things right away!
