Google Maps is a popular mobile application and desktop website that helps users navigate through roads, streets, or highways easily. It has numerous features that make it more efficient, such as finding nearby restaurants or gas stations or saving favorite locations for future reference. A useful feature that comes in handy is dropping a pin on Google Maps, which allows you to mark a certain location or pinpoint a particular place.

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to drop a pin on Google Maps on mobile and desktop devices:

On Mobile Devices:

1. Open Google Maps on your mobile device.

2. Find the location that you want to drop the pin on the map.

3. Touch and hold the area on the map where you want to place the pin, and soon enough, a red pin will appear on the screen.

4. You can drag the pin to a more precise location by holding and dragging it to the desired spot.

5. You can tap on the pin to access more information about the location.

6. Once you’re done, you can save the location or send it to someone else.

On Desktop:

1. Launch Google Maps on your desktop device and look for the location that you want to drop the pin.

2. On the bottom right of the screen, click on the “Add a marker” icon; it looks like a small red pin.

3. Click on the exact spot on the map where you want to drop the pin.

4. Once you click, a red pin will appear on the map, and a screen will pop up with some options.

5. If you need to add more details to the pin, you can click on the “Add a label” button to add a name or description.

6. To save the pin, click on the “Save” button, and it will be added to the appropriate location list on the left-hand side of the screen.
