How to Delete Snapchat Story on Android and iPhone

In the world of social media, sharing moments through stories has become a norm. Snapchat, known for its ephemeral content, allows users to post stories that disappear after 24 hours. However, sometimes you may post a story accidentally or have second thoughts about the content you’ve shared. In such cases, deleting a Snapchat story is a quick and easy process for both Android and iPhone users.

Follow these steps to delete your Snapchat story:

For Android Users:

  1. Open the Snapchat app on your Android device.
  2. Swipe left on the camera screen to access the Stories screen.
  3. Find your profile icon at the top of the screen and tap on it.
  4. This will open your personal Snapchat profile where you can view all your posted stories.
  5. Tap on ‘My Story’ to expand and view all the snaps you’ve added to your story.
  6. Find the snap you want to delete, and click on it.
  7. Once the snap is open, tap on the three vertical dots (‘More’) in the top-right corner of the screen.
  8. A menu will appear with different options; select ‘Delete Snap’.
  9. Snapchat will ask for confirmation; confirm that you want to delete the snap by tapping ‘Delete’.

For iPhone Users:

  1. Launch the Snapchat app on your iPhone.
  2. Swipe left from the camera screen to get into the Stories screen or click on your profile icon in the top-left corner.
  3. Your profile page will display your current stories; tap ‘My Story’ to see all individual snaps.
  4. Choose the snap within your story that you wish to remove.
  5. View it, then look for three horizontal dots or an overflow menu icon in the top-right corner and tap it.
  6. Hit ‘Delete Snap’ from the list of options that pop up.
  7. Confirm deletion by tapping ‘Delete’ when prompted.

Remember, deleting a snap from your story is irreversible and will remove it immediately from your story feed, preventing all further views by anyone including those who saw it before.

Also note that while you can delete individual snaps from ‘My Story’, if you have posted a snap to ‘Our Story,’ which is public and visible to all Snapchat users, removal might not be instant as it is based upon review by Snapchat’s team.

Maintaining control over your digital footprint is crucial and this guide ensures that you know exactly how to manage your Snapchat presence by removing content that no longer represents your intended narrative or was shared unintentionally.
