Chromebooks are an excellent alternative to traditional laptops, but sometimes we need to delete apps we no longer use. You may be wondering how to delete apps from your Chromebook, but the process is quite simple. In this article, we’ll show you step-by-step how to delete apps from your Chromebook.

Step 1: Launch the Launcher

The Launcher is the button located at the very bottom left of the Chromebook screen. Click on it to open the app drawer. Alternatively, you can use the search key located next to the Launcher button and search for the app you want to delete.

Step 2: Locate the App

Once the Launcher is open, locate the app you want to delete. You can use the search bar located at the top of the app drawer to search for the app. Once you’ve located the app, click and hold on it with your touchpad or mouse.

Step 3: Delete the App

After clicking and holding on the app icon, a menu with several options will appear. Click on “Uninstall” to delete the app from your Chromebook. A confirmation box will pop up, asking you to confirm whether you want to uninstall the app. Click on “Uninstall” again to confirm.

If you’re not sure whether you want to delete the app, you can choose “App info” instead of “Uninstall”. This will open a page with details about the app, such as its size, permissions, and version. You can also see how much storage space the app is taking up on your Chromebook.

Step 4: Check the Deleted Apps Folder

Once you’ve deleted an app from your Chromebook, it will be moved to the “Deleted Apps” folder. To access this folder, click on the Launcher button, then click on “All Apps”. You’ll see a “Deleted Apps” folder at the bottom of the app drawer. Click on it to see all the apps you’ve deleted from your Chromebook.

If you change your mind and decide you want to reinstall an app you’ve deleted, you can do so by clicking on its icon in the “Deleted Apps” folder. This will take you to the app page in the Chrome Web Store, where you can click on “Add to Chrome” to reinstall the app.

Conclusion

Deleting apps from your Chromebook is a breeze. The Launcher and search key make it easy to locate the app you want to delete, and the uninstall process is straightforward. Remember to check the “Deleted Apps” folder if you want to see a list of all the apps you’ve deleted. With these steps, you can free up space on your Chromebook and keep it running smoothly.
