PDF or Portable Document Format, is a common file format that is used to share documents online. It is a popular file format because PDFs retain their formatting, unlike other document formats that can become distorted when transferred between devices. However, one downside of PDFs is that they are not easily editable, which can be problematic if you need to copy text or images from a PDF. In this article, we will show you how to copy text or images from a PDF file.

Copy text from a PDF file

To copy text from a PDF file, follow these steps:

Step 1:

Open the PDF file that contains the text you want to copy.

Step 2:

Select the text you want to copy. You can do this by dragging your cursor across the text or selecting all text on the page by pressing Ctrl+A.

Step 3:

Once the text is selected, right-click on it and choose ‘Copy’ from the context menu. Alternatively, you can press Ctrl+C to copy the text.

Step 4:

Open the application where you want to paste the copied text and right-click on the cursor. Choose ‘Paste’ from the context menu, or press Ctrl+V to paste the copied text.

Copy images from a PDF file

To copy images from a PDF file, follow these steps:

Step 1:

Open the PDF file that contains the image(s) you want to copy.

Step 2:

Click on the ‘Edit’ tab in the Adobe Acrobat Reader menu and select ‘Take a Snapshot’.

Step 3:

Drag the dashed box around the image you want to copy. This will create a selected area of the image.

Step 4:

Right-click on the selected area and choose ‘Copy Image’. Alternatively, you can press Ctrl+C to copy the image.

Step 5:

Open the application where you want to paste the copied image and right-click on the cursor. Choose ‘Paste’ from the context menu, or press Ctrl+V to paste the copied image.

In conclusion, copying text or images from a PDF file can be a hassle if you don’t know the right way to go about it. Luckily, it is a straightforward process that can be done by following the simple steps outlined in this article. By using just a few clicks, you can copy text or images from a PDF file and paste them in any application you want. Next time you need to copy something from a PDF file, you can do so with ease by following these steps.
