With the recent release of Steam’s new feature that allows users to play games using Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons on their PC, many players have been excited to try the new feature. If you are one of these players and wondering how to connect your Joy-Cons to Steam, then you are in the right place. In this article, we will guide you through the steps of connecting your Joy-Cons to Steam.

Before diving into the steps, there are a few things you will need to make sure that you have:

  1. A Nintendo Switch Joy-Con pair
  2. A Bluetooth-enabled PC
  3. The latest version of Steam (update if not)

Now that you have everything you need let’s jump into the steps:

Step #1: Turn on Bluetooth on your PC

To connect your Joy-Cons to your PC via Bluetooth, you need to have Bluetooth enabled on your PC. You can turn on Bluetooth by going to your PC’s settings and then to the ‘Bluetooth and devices’ section. Once there, ensure that Bluetooth is turned on.

Step #2: Press the Sync button on your Joy-Con Pair

On the Joy-Con pair, there is a small sync button. Press and hold this button for a few seconds until the light on the controller starts flashing.

Step #3: Go to Steam’s controller settings

In Steam, select the ‘Steam’ tab from the top left corner of the window, and then choose the ‘Settings’ option. From the settings, select the ‘Controller’ tab, which is on the left side of the screen.

Step #4: Add a Bluetooth controller

From the controller settings, select the ‘Bluetooth+ option, then click ‘Add a Bluetooth Controller.’ Your PC will then scan for available controllers, so make sure your Joy-Cons are still in sync mode.

Step #5: Connect your Joy-Cons to Steam

Once Steam recognizes your Joy-Cons, you will need to set up the controller’s configuration. Steam allows Joy-Con customization, so you can adjust the mapping of button inputs to match your preferred layout. Once you complete the configuration, your Joy-Cons are now connected to Steam, and you can start playing your favorite games.

In conclusion, Steam’s Joy-Con support is an exciting feature that brings the Nintendo Switch’s unique controller to the PC gaming world. By following the steps mentioned above, you will be able to connect your Joy-Cons to Steam, opening up a whole new world of gaming possibilities. Enjoy!
