How to Clear System Data or Other Storage on Your iPhone
As an iPhone user, you may have noticed that your device’s storage can fill up quickly, especially if you use a lot of apps or take a lot of photos and videos. One way to free up space on your iPhone is to clear system data and other storage. Here’s how to do it:
- Clear Safari website data
Safari website data can take up a lot of space on your iPhone. To clear it, go to Settings > Safari > Clear History and Website Data. This will delete your browsing history, cookies, and other website data.
- Delete app cache
Apps also store data on your iPhone, including cache files that can take up space. To delete app cache, go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage. Scroll down to see a list of apps and how much space they are using. Tap on an app to see the amount of space taken up by its documents and data. To delete the app’s cache, tap on Delete App, then reinstall the app from the App Store.
- Delete old messages and attachments
Messages and their attachments can also take up space on your iPhone. To delete old messages and attachments, go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage. Scroll down to see a list of apps and how much space they are using. Tap on Messages to see how much space is taken up by messages and attachments. You can choose to delete all messages and attachments or only those that are older than a certain date.
- Offload unused apps
If you have apps that you rarely use, you can offload them to free up space. Offloading an app deletes the app but keeps its documents and data on your iPhone. To offload an app, go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage, then tap on an app that you want to offload. Tap on Offload App, then tap on Offload App again to confirm.
- Clear downloaded music and videos
If you download music and videos to your iPhone, they can take up a lot of space. To clear downloaded music and videos, go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage. Scroll down to see a list of apps and how much space they are using. Tap on Music or Videos to see how much space is taken up by downloaded music and videos. You can choose to delete all downloaded music and videos or only those that are older than a certain date.
