How to Clean an Eyelash Curler: 9 Steps

Keeping your eyelash curler clean is essential to maintain its performance and prevent any eye infections. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to clean an eyelash curler:

1. Gather your supplies: You’ll need rubbing alcohol, cotton balls or pads, cotton swabs, warm water, and a towel.

2. Remove the pad: Carefully take off the silicone or rubber pad from the eyelash curler. This will help you reach all the hidden spots and ensure proper cleaning.

3. Wipe with alcohol: Dampen a cotton ball or pad with rubbing alcohol and gently wipe the metal parts of the eyelash curler. The alcohol will help disinfect, remove makeup residue, and sanitize the curler.

4. Clean hard-to-reach areas: Use a cotton swab soaked in alcohol to clean any crevices, corners, or small spaces on the eyelash curler that you couldn’t reach with a cotton pad.

5. Rinse with warm water: After thoroughly cleaning your eyelash curler with alcohol, run it under warm water to rinse it well. Ensure that all traces of alcohol and residue are removed to avoid irritation when using it later.

6. Dry the curler: Carefully tap off any excess water from the curler and lay it out on a clean towel to air dry completely.

7. Clean the pad: While waiting for your eyelash curler to dry, dampen a cotton swab with rubbing alcohol and use it to gently clean both sides of the silicone or rubber pad.

8. Rinse and dry the pad: After cleaning the pad, rinse it well under warm water and place it on a clean towel to dry.

9. Reassemble: Once both your eyelash curler and pad are completely dry, carefully reattach the pad back onto the tool.

By following these steps, you’ll not only extend the life of your eyelash curler but also ensure a safe and effective makeup tool. Remember to clean your eyelash curler regularly, ideally after every use or at least once a week, for optimal results and hygiene.

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject.
