Keeping your Apple Magic Keyboard clean is essential for ensuring it works as it should for years to come. Dirt, debris, dust, and grime can build up on the keys and cause problems with the keyboard’s functionality, so regular cleaning is critical. Here’s what you need to do to keep your Magic Keyboard clean and functioning correctly.

Step 1: Turn off the Keyboard

Before beginning the cleaning process, turn the Magic Keyboard off or disconnect it from your device. This will help protect the keyboard from possible damage and ensure that the keys don’t register any keystrokes accidentally.

Step 2: Shake Loose Dirt and Debris

Shake off the keyboard and turn it upside down over a clean surface to remove any loose debris that may be inside the keyboard or between the keys. A gentle shake should do the trick but, if necessary, use a small brush to remove any stubborn debris.

Step 3: Clean the Keys

Cleaning the keys is a crucial step in keeping your keyboard clean. You can use a damp microfiber cloth to wipe the keys gently. Avoid using any cleaning agents that contain alcohol, bleach or solvents, as this may damage the finish of the keys over time. Alternatively, you can use a can of compressed air to blow any dirt, dust, and debris that may be lodged between the keys.

Step 4: Clean the Surface

To clean the surface of the Magic Keyboard, use a damp microfiber cloth and gently wipe the entire keyboard. Make sure the cloth is not dripping wet, as excess water can cause the electronics to malfunction. Avoid spraying liquids directly onto the keyboard.

Step 5: Dry and Reconnect

After wiping the keyboard, allow it to air dry fully. Once it is dry, reconnect the keyboard to your device and turn it on.

Step 6: Use a Keyboard Cover

To keep your Magic Keyboard clean always, you can use a keyboard cover. Keyboard covers are a thin, protective barrier that sits on top of your keyboard, preventing dirt, dust, and debris from getting in between the keys.

By following these simple steps, you can keep your Magic Keyboard clean and functioning correctly for years to come. A clean keyboard helps you type with ease and also helps prevent the build-up of harmful bacteria that can be harmful to your health.
