How to Change Notification Sound for Apps on iPhone

In the age of constant connectivity, customizing how your iPhone notifies you of new messages, emails, or updates can be a great way to personalize your experience and manage your digital attention. Here’s how you can change the notification sounds for different apps on your iPhone:

1.Open Settings: Start by tapping on the ‘Settings’ app on your iPhone.

2.Select ‘Notifications’: Scroll down and find the ‘Notifications’ option; tap on it to manage the notification settings.

3.Choose the App: You’ll see a list of all your installed apps that support notifications. Tap on the app for which you want to change the notification sound.

4.Tap ‘Sounds’: In the app’s notification settings, look for an option labeled ‘Sounds’ (not all apps may offer this).

5.Pick a Sound: You will now be presented with a list of different sounds you can use for notifications from this app. Listen to the previews by tapping on them, and select the one you prefer.

6.Adjust Additional Settings: Besides changing the sound, you may have options to adjust vibration patterns or whether the notifications show up as banners, alerts, or in the Notification Center.

7.Exit Settings: After picking a new sound, simply exit the settings. The changes are usually saved automatically.

Remember that not all apps will allow you to change the notification sound due to their specific settings or restrictions imposed by their developers. However, most of the standard apps like Messages, Mail, and third-party apps like WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger will let you customize this aspect of your notifications.

By following these simple steps, you can have a more tailored alert system that suits your style and helps you identify important notifications at a glance – or in this case, by ear!

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
