Gmail is one of the most popular email services used by millions of people worldwide. It provides various features that make our email experience easy and convenient. However, sometimes we may receive unwanted emails that can be a nuisance. If you’re tired of receiving spammy or irrelevant emails, you may want to know how to block emails in Gmail. In this article, we will guide you through the process of blocking emails in Gmail.

Step 1: Open Gmail

The first step to blocking emails in Gmail is to open Gmail on your computer or mobile device. If you’re using a computer, open your favorite web browser and sign in to your Gmail account. If you’re using a mobile device, download and open the Gmail app.

Step 2: Find the email you want to block

Once you’re in your Gmail account, find the email you want to block. You can either search for it using the search bar or go through your inbox to find it.

Step 3: Open the email

After locating the email, open it by clicking on it. Once you’ve opened the email, you’ll see several options at the top of the message.

Step 4: Click on the three dots

To block an email in Gmail, click on the three dots located in the top right corner. This will open a menu of options.

Step 5: Select “Block [sender]”

From the menu, select “Block [sender].” This will prompt a confirmation message that reads, “You will no longer receive emails from [sender].”

Step 6: Click “Block”

To confirm that you want to block the sender, click “Block.” This will automatically move all future emails from the sender to the spam folder.

Step 7: Unblock the sender (Optional)

In case you mistakenly blocked the wrong email or you want to unblock a sender, you can do so by following these steps:

Step 1: Click on the gear icon in your Gmail account.

Step 2: Go to “Settings.”

Step 3: Click on “Filters and Blocked Addresses.”

Step 4: Find the sender you want to unblock and click “Unblock.”

Conclusion

Blocking emails in Gmail is a great way to reduce unwanted emails in your inbox. By following the simple steps we’ve outlined in this article, you can easily block any email or sender that you don’t want to receive. Remember, if you mistakenly block someone, you can always unblock them by following the same steps. Happy emailing!
