1.Assess your needs:Before asking someone for a ride, determine how far you need to go and how long it will take. This can save both of you time and help to ensure a comfortable trip.

2.Choose the right person:Pick a friend or family member who is reliable and known to be an experienced driver. You can also consider a neighbor or coworker if you feel comfortable with them.

3.Plan ahead:Avoid asking for a ride last-minute, as this can inconvenience the other person and make them less likely to accept your request. Instead, plan accordingly so that you give them enough time in advance.

4.Be polite and respectful:When asking for a ride, be polite, respectful, and considerate of their feelings. Also, remember to use basic manners like saying “please” and “thank you.”

5.Offer to pay for gas:To show that you appreciate their help, offer to cover the cost of fuel for the trip.

6.Specify your destination and preferred route:Clearly explain where you need to go and suggest the route so they can agree to it or suggest an alternative one.

7.Find a convenient time for both parties:When discussing the ride, work together to find a mutually convenient time that works best for both of you.

8.Have a backup plan:It’s always good to have alternative transportation options in case your proposed driver cannot accommodate your request. This could include public transportation, rideshare services like Uber or Lyft, or simply walking if the distance isn’t too far.

9.Show gratitude:After they agree to give you a ride, remember to express your gratitude sincerely, recognizing that they are doing you a favor.

10.Be punctual and ready when they arrive:As your ride approaches, make sure that you are fully prepared by having all of your belongings organized and being in the agreed-upon location on time.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
