Google Photos for the web received a major update adding Explore and Favorites tabs to its interface. The update makes it easier for users to find their favorite photos and discover new ones.

Google Photos already offered robust search and sort capabilities, but the new Explore tab offers a unique way to discover new content. By clicking on the tab, users will see a selection of photos that Google thinks they’ll enjoy based on their browsing history and search preferences.

The Explore tab also offers users the option to browse photos by category, such as landscapes, animals, and food. This makes it easier to discover new photos related to specific interests or hobbies.

The Favorites tab is another welcome addition to Google Photos for the web. It allows users to quickly access and view their favorite photos in one place. Any photo can be marked as a favorite by simply clicking the star icon next to the image.

Previously, users had to create albums or search for specific photos to view their favorite shots. Now, with the Favorites tab, users can quickly access their most beloved photos and relive their favorite memories.

Both the Explore and Favorites tabs were already available in Google Photos for mobile devices, but the addition of these features to the web interface makes the service more consistent across all platforms.

The update comes at a time when Google Photos is facing increased competition from other photo storage and sharing services, such as Apple Photos and Amazon Photos. These new features should help Google Photos stay competitive and offer users even more value.

Overall, the addition of the Explore and Favorites tabs to Google Photos for the web is a welcome update that will make it easier for users to discover and view their favorite photos. Whether you’re a casual snap-shooter or a professional photographer, these new features are sure to enhance your Google Photos experience.
