As businesses become increasingly globalized, companies are looking for ways to keep their employees up-to-date with the latest best practices and technologies. And when it comes to training, there are plenty of trends to watch out for in 2018.

One trend to watch out for is accelerated learning. This involves companies investing in more flexible, asynchronous learning methods, such as online courses and Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). A study by eLearning Industry found that 91% of businesses are using or planning to use MOOCs in their training programs.

Another trend to watch out for is gamification. This involves using game-like elements in training programs to engage learners and increase retention. For example, companies might award badges or points after completing a training course, or add bonus questions to a quiz to increase the sense of achievement.

Finally, companies are increasingly looking for ways to use AI and machine learning in their training programs. For example, AI can be used to create custom training modules based on individual learner needs, or to recommend exercises and resources after a training session.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
