Calm is one of the most popular and widely used meditation and relaxation apps around the world. The app helps users relax and reduce anxiety through an extensive collection of guided meditations, sleep stories, and music tracks. The app, which was launched in 2012, is available on iOS and Android devices and has both a free and a premium version. However, many users wonder if upgrading to the premium version of Calm is worth the money. In this article, we will discuss the differences between Calm Free and Premium to help users decide which version is good for them.

Calm Free

Calm Free, as the name suggests, is the free version of the app. Users can download the app, create an account, and immediately access a range of meditations, sleep stories, and other features. However, the free version comes with limitations, including access to only a limited number of features.

Here are the features of Calm Free:

  1. Guided Meditations: Users can access a limited number of guided meditations to help them reduce anxiety and stress.
  2. Sleep Stories: Users can listen to soothing bedtime stories to help them fall asleep faster and sleep more peacefully.
  3. Relaxation Techniques: Calm offers various relaxation techniques, including breathing exercises and mindful stretching.
  4. Personalization: Users can customize their profile and track progress on goals like reducing anxiety, focusing more, or sleeping better.
  5. Music: Calm offers a limited selection of music tracks designed to help users relax and focus.

Calm Premium

Calm Premium is the paid version of the app, which offers more features and benefits than Calm Free. The subscription cost varies depending on the country and the length of the subscription.

Here are the additional features of Calm Premium:

  1. Unlimited Access to Guided Meditations: Calm Premium users have unlimited access to hundreds of guided meditations on a range of topics, such as stress reduction, anxiety relief, and sleep hygiene.
  2. More Sleep Stories: With Calm Premium, users have access to over 120 sleep stories, including bedtime stories, fairy tales, and original stories.
  3. Daily Calm: Calm Premium offers a regular 10-minute meditation session called ‘Daily Calm,’ which is designed to help users start their day on a positive note.
  4. Advanced Programs: Calm Premium users can access advanced meditation programs like the ‘21 Days of Calm’ to help establish a consistent meditation practice.
  5. Music: Calm Premium offers a much larger selection of music tracks that users can listen to during meditation or any other time they want to relax.
  6. Reminders: Users can set reminders to meditate or relax at their preferred time.
