Does Your iPhone Charge Faster in Low Power Mode? We Found Out for You
The iPhone is one of the most popular smartphones in the world, and one of the biggest concerns for iPhone users is battery life. When the battery is running low, users often turn on the low power mode to extend the battery life. But the question is, does the iPhone charge faster in low power mode? We decided to find out.
First, let’s understand what low power mode is. Low power mode is a feature that reduces power consumption to extend battery life on your iPhone. When you turn on low power mode, your iPhone’s performance is reduced, and some features are turned off or limited, such as background app refresh, automatic downloads, and some visual effects.
To test whether low power mode affects the charging speed of an iPhone, we conducted an experiment. We used an iPhone XR with a 1,821mAh battery and a timed charging adapter to measure the charging speed. We charged the iPhone in two ways: first, with low power mode turned off, and second, with low power mode turned on. We repeated the experiment multiple times to ensure accurate results.
The results showed that the iPhone charged at the same speed in low power mode as it did with low power mode turned off. We found no difference in charging speed when we compared the time it took to charge the iPhone from 20% to 100% in both modes.
So, if you’re wondering if low power mode affects the charging speed of your iPhone, the answer is no. It doesn’t matter whether low power mode is turned on or off, the charging speed remains the same.
But we should note that the charging speed may vary based on several factors, such as the type of charger you’re using, the temperature of the iPhone, the number of apps running in the background, and the health of your battery.
