Best Free Browser Games to Kill Time

When you’re looking to kill time, there’s nothing quite as effective as a good browser game. And with the rise of HTML5, browser games are more sophisticated, polished, and entertaining than ever. Best of all, many of the best browser games are completely free to play. Here are our top picks for the best free browser games to help you pass the time.

  1. slither.io: Slither.io is a simple but addictive game in which you play as a snake, guiding it through a maze of other player-controlled snakes. Your goal is to eat as many of the colorful dots scattered across the game board as you can, growing longer with each dot you consume. The challenge comes from avoiding collisions with other snakes while strategically maneuvering to trap them and steal their dots. It’s an easy game to pick up but difficult to master, making it a perfect time-killer.
  2. Krunker: Krunker is an exciting first-person shooter game that you can play in your browser. You take on the role of a soldier, armed with a variety of weapons, and compete against other players in fast-paced, adrenaline-fueled matches. The game’s pixelated graphics give it a retro arcade vibe, but the gameplay is anything but old-fashioned. With multiple game modes and dozens of different maps, Krunker can keep you entertained for hours.
  3. Run 3: Run 3 is a challenging and addictive platformer in which you guide a little alien through a series of gravity-defying tunnels, avoiding obstacles and collecting Power cells along the way. The game’s simple but stylish graphics and fast-paced gameplay make it a perfect time-killer, but don’t be deceived – it can be surprisingly difficult.
  4. Agar.io: Agar.io is another classic browser game that has stood the test of time. You play as a cell, navigating a crowded petri dish filled with other player-controlled cells. Your goal is to eat smaller cells to grow larger while avoiding bigger cells that can consume you. It’s simple, addictive and remarkably fun.
  5. Twitch Plays Pokemon: Twitch Plays Pokemon is a unique social experiment that lets you collectively play Pokemon games with thousands of other players. You input commands into a chat box, which are then executed in the game world. It’s a fun and chaotic way to experience classic Pokemon games, and you never know what’s going to happen next.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
