How to Use Shazam to Quickly Discover the Name of a Song on iPhone

Have you ever found yourself humming a tune or listening to a song at a party and wondering what it’s called? Before smartphones, you might have had to ask around or try to remember some of the lyrics to search for it later. However, now you can use Shazam, a music-identifying app available on iPhones, to quickly discover the name of any song.

Shazam is a free app that has been around since 1999, but it has become increasingly popular in recent years. The app uses your phone’s microphone to record a portion of the song playing, and it then matches it against its extensive database of recorded music to provide you with the name of the song and its artist.

To use Shazam on your iPhone, simply follow these steps:

1. Download and install the Shazam app from the App Store.

2. Open the app and tap on the large button with the Shazam logo.

3. Hold your iPhone up to the audio source, making sure the song is playing clearly and the volume is high enough.

4. Wait a few seconds for Shazam to analyze the song. You will see a spinning animation on the screen while it works.

5. Once Shazam has identified the song, it will display the name of the song, artist, album, and cover art. It may also display links to lyrics or the option to listen to the song on Apple Music.

6. You can save the song to your Shazam library by tapping the plus icon. This will save the song for future reference and allow you to listen to it again later.

There are a few additional features of Shazam that are worth noting. For example, you can use Shazam in offline mode if you’re in an area with no internet connection. The app will save the song information and then update it when you’re back online. Additionally, if you’re in a noisy environment, you can use the app’s visual Shazam feature, which allows you to scan a visual code, such as a poster or billboard, to identify a song.

Using Shazam is an easy and efficient way to discover the name of a song on your iPhone. It’s perfect for when you’re out and about and want to know the name of the song playing on the radio, at a party, or in a store. With Shazam, you’ll never have to guess the name of a song again.
