In this article, we will explore how to make and answer phone calls on your Mac for convenience and efficiency.

Step 1: Ensure your Mac is updated

One of the requirements to make and receive phone calls on your Mac is to ensure that your device is updated. The updated version of the macOS operating software has the feature integrated into the system, making it easy to make and receive calls.

Step 2: Connect the device to the same Wi-Fi network as your iPhone

Another requirement is to have your Mac and iPhone connected to the same Wi-Fi network for seamless integration. The Handoff feature on Mac and iPhone is responsible for enabling this connection to work. Ensure that your devices’ Bluetooth is turned on and both devices link up.

Step 3: Enable Phone Calling

Go to the FaceTime App on your Mac, locate the “Preferences” tab, and click on it. On the “Preferences” tab, check the box labeled “Enable receive phone calls on this Mac.” Once this is complete, your Mac makes and receives phone calls similar to your iPhone.

Step 4: Make and receive calls

To make a call, use the FaceTime app on your Mac, select the contact you want to call, and click on the phone icon next to their name. You can also make a call by going to the Safari browser, right-clicking on the contact’s number, and selecting “Call” from the drop-down menu.

To receive a call, a notification will appear on your Mac when you receive a phone call on your iPhone. You can answer the call from your Mac by clicking on the notification and accepting the call.

In conclusion, integrating your Mac with your iPhone for phone calls is a fantastic feature that ensures convenience and efficiency. With this feature, you can make and receive phone calls while working on your tasks on your Mac without the need to shift attention to another device. Just follow the above steps, and you’ll be making and receiving phone calls from your Mac in no time.
