Here are the steps to make an X̄ symbol in Word:

Method 1: Using the Insert menu

1. Open Microsoft Word and go to the “Insert” tab.

2. Click on “Symbol” in the “Symbols” group.

3. In the drop-down menu, select “More Symbols.”

4. In the “Symbol” dialog box, select the “Arial Unicode MS” font from the “Subset” drop-down menu.

5. Scroll down until you find the X-bar symbol (it should be somewhere in the middle of the list) and double-click on it to insert it into your document.

6. Close the “Symbol” dialog box.

Method 2: Using a keyboard shortcut

1. Open Microsoft Word.

2. Place the cursor where you want to insert the X-bar symbol.

3. Press the “Ctrl” and “=“ keys simultaneously. This will insert a “sx” symbol into your document.

4. Highlight the “x” in the “sx” symbol and change its font to “Arial Unicode MS.”

5. Press the “Alt” key and type “0772” on the numeric keypad. This will change the “s” to an X-bar symbol.

6. Release the “Alt” key and the X̄ symbol will appear in your document.

Once you have inserted the X-bar symbol into your Word document, you can adjust its size and formatting by selecting it and using the formatting options in the “Font” group on the “Home” tab.

In conclusion, creating an X-bar symbol in Word is a simple process that can be done in just a few steps. Whether you prefer to use the Insert menu or a keyboard shortcut, you can easily add this useful symbol to your documents with just a few clicks.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
