In today’s world, technology has evolved to a level where it can help you out of the most difficult situations. Apple’s iPhone has a feature called Emergency SOS that can prove to be life-saving in case of an emergency. Enabling the Emergency SOS feature is easy, and it can be done by following a few simple steps.

Before we get into how to use the Emergency SOS feature on your iPhone, let’s understand what it is. Emergency SOS is a feature that allows iPhone users to quickly call for help in critical situations. It’s a function that can be accessed even when your phone is locked, making it a reliable tool to use during an emergency.

To enable the Emergency SOS feature, follow these steps:

1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.

2. Tap on Emergency SOS.

3. Turn on the “Auto Call” option if you wish the iPhone to automatically call emergency services after pressing the side button five times in a row.
You can also enable “Countdown Sound” to get a timer to sound before the automatic call is made.

4. Choose the contacts you want to be notified when the feature is activated.

Once you’ve enabled the Emergency SOS feature, using it in a time of need is just as easy. To activate the Emergency SOS feature, follow these steps:

1. Press and hold the side button and either volume button on your iPhone until the Emergency SOS slider appears.

2. Drag the slider to the right. This action will automatically call for emergency services, or the contacts you’ve specified, when the timer runs out.

That’s it; your iPhone will now notify the relevant contacts and emergency services of your location and call for help.

It’s important to note that using Emergency SOS without a valid reason is an act of abuse, and it can result in serious consequences. Only use Emergency SOS after adequately considering the situation and ensuring that help is needed.

In conclusion, the Emergency SOS feature on your iPhone can provide tremendous help in critical situations. Ensure that you enable it and add the appropriate contacts before it is essential. Remember that using Emergency SOS wisely can be the difference between life and death, so use it sensibly and only when necessary.
