Instagram is a social platform that allows you to connect with friends, family, and people from all around the world. The app also offers a search feature that you can use to find new people, hashtags, locations, and businesses to follow. However, if you use the search feature regularly, your search history might accumulate and eventually become cluttered with searches that no longer interest you. Clearing your Instagram search history can help you free up space and improve your app experience. Here’s how to do it.

Step 1: Open the Instagram App

Open the Instagram app on your device and log in to your account if you haven’t already.

Step 2: Go to Your Profile Page

Tap on the profile button at the bottom right corner of the screen. It looks like a silhouette of a person.

Step 3: Access Your Options

In the top right corner of your profile page, you will find three horizontal lines. Tap on these lines to access your Instagram Options.

Step 4: Find the ‘Security’ Option

Scroll down until you see the ‘Security’ option.

Step 5: Tap on ‘Clear Search History’

Under the ‘Security’ option, you will see ‘Clear Search History.’ Tap on it.

Step 6: Confirm That You Want to Clear Your Search History

After tapping on ‘Clear Search History’, a confirmation message will appear. If you’re sure you want to clear your search history, tap ‘Yes, I’m Sure.’

Step 7: Check Your Search History Has Been Cleared

Return to the Instagram app homepage and tap on the search bar. Your search history should now be empty.

In conclusion, clearing your Instagram search history is a quick and easy way to declutter your app experience. With just a few taps, you can free up space in your search history and start discovering new accounts on Instagram. So, if you’re feeling overwhelmed by your search history, follow these seven simple steps, and enjoy a fresh start.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
