5 Ways to Tie Sperrys

Introduction:

Sperry boat shoes, famous for their comfort and versatility, are a staple in many wardrobes. One appealing feature of Sperrys is the various ways they can be tied, allowing wearers to customize their shoe’s appearance and comfort level. In this article, we will explore five different ways to tie your Sperrys for style and functionality.

1. Standard Tying Method:

The first method is the standard tying method, often seen with most shoe types, including Sperrys. To do this, simply cross the laces over each other, then thread one lace under the other and pull tight. Repeat this process to create a loop with each lace end, cross the loops, pull one loop through the other, and tighten.

2. Barrel Knot – A No Bow Look:

If you prefer a clean, minimalist look for your Sperrys without the bow knot showing, try the Barrel Knot method. Start by crossing the laces over each other and threading one end under the opposite side as usual. However, instead of tying a bow knot, wrap each free lace end around your fingers twice to create two loops. Next, slip one loop inside the other and gently pull both ends tight to create a barrel-shaped knot.

3. The Double Loop Shoe Lace Knot:

This stylish alternative to standard tying provides extra security for your laces. Begin by crossing the laces over each other as usual but make two loops with each end instead of one before crossing them over again. Then, pull one loop through the other and tighten to complete your double loop shoe lace knot.

4. Tassel Tie – A Playful Style:

For a playful touch on your Sperry laces, consider incorporating tassels into your tie style. Start by threading beads or tassels onto your laces before tying them normally using any of the above methods. The added tassels or beads will create a fun and personalized look for your Sperrys.

5. The Hidden Knot Method:

The hidden knot method is perfect for showcasing your Sperry’s design without distracting lace bows. Begin by tightening your laces and ensuring they’re of equal length. Pull each lace end inside the shoe through the closest eyelet, then tie a standard knot, tucking the bow under the tongue of the shoe to keep it hidden.

Conclusion:

There are numerous ways to tie your Sperry boat shoes for both style and comfort. Experiment with these five methods to find the perfect fit and look that suits your personal style!
