4 Ways to Do a Man Bun

The man bun has taken the world of men’s hairstyling by storm, offering a versatile and attractive option for those with medium to long hair. Not only is it practical, keeping the hair away from the face, but it also proves that you’re up-to-date with the latest trends. If you’re looking to master the man bun, here are four ways to style it.

1. The Classic Man Bun

The classic man bun is perfect for any occasion and works best with medium to long hair. To achieve this look:

– Start by brushing your hair back and gathering it all at the crown of your head.

– Use a hair tie to secure your hair in a ponytail.

– Twist your ponytail in one direction until it coils around itself.

– Wrap the coiled hair around the base of the ponytail, creating a bun.

– Secure with bobby pins or another hair tie if necessary.

2. The Low Man Bun

The low man bun offers an effortless yet stylish alternative to the classic style. This look works best for those with longer or heavier hair.

– Begin by combing your hair back smoothly.

– Gather your hair at the nape of your neck in a loose ponytail.

– Twist the ponytail and wrap it around its base to form a bun.

– Secure the bun using bobby pins or another hair tie.

3. The Half-Up Man Bun

For men with medium-length hair or who want to add volume to their existing hairstyle, the half-up man bun is an ideal option.

– Divide your upper part of the head (from just above your ears) into two sections: top and bottom.

– Smoothly gather the top half of your hair towards the crown area.

– Secure this top portion into a small, tight ponytail.

– Twist and wrap this ponytail into a small bun and secure with bobby pins if necessary.

4. The Braided Man Bun

If you’re feeling a bit more adventurous and have longer hair, the braided man bun offers an eye-catching and unique look.

– Start at the top of your head near your forehead and divide your hair into three even sections.

– Begin braiding your hair by crossing the right section over the middle section, followed by the left section over the new middle section.

– Continue this process until you’ve braided the desired length.

– Gather the remaining unbraided hair along with your braid into a ponytail.

– Twist and wrap the ponytail around its base to form a bun, incorporating your braid as well.

– Use bobby pins or a hair tie to secure the bun.

Now that you’re equipped with four different man bun styles, you’re ready to show off your new fashionable look. Remember to mix up your styles occasionally to keep things fresh, and enjoy the attention that comes with this popular hairstyle.
