4 Ways to Cook Hot Links

Hot links, also known as spicy sausages, are a popular meal choice for their bold flavor and satisfying texture. These delicious sausages can be cooked in various ways to highlight their unique taste. Here are the top four cooking methods for hot links that you should try the next time you want to add some spice to your meal.

1. Grilling

One of the most popular methods for cooking hot links is grilling. This method brings out the smoky, savory flavor of the sausage and adds a nice char on the outside. To grill hot links:

a) Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

b) Place hot links on the grill, leaving some space between them for even cooking.

c) Cook for 7-10 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

d) Serve with your favorite side dishes.

2. Pan-Frying

If you don’t have access to a grill or simply prefer cooking indoors, pan-frying is another option for hot links. This method creates a crispy exterior while keeping the inside juicy.

a) Heat a non-stick skillet or cast iron pan over medium heat.

b) Add a small amount of oil to prevent sticking.

c) Place hot links in the pan and cook for about 5 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

d) Let them rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

3. Baking

Baking hot links in the oven is an easy, hands-off method that still yields great results.

a) Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

b) Place hot links on a foil-lined baking sheet or in an oven-safe dish.

c) Cook in the oven for 25-30 minutes, turning halfway through the cooking time, until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

d) Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce or toppings.

4. Boiling

Boiling is a quick and convenient method for cooking hot links that also helps to remove some of the excess fat.

a) Fill a large pot halfway with water and bring to a boil.

b) Add hot links to the boiling water, and reduce heat to a simmer.

c) Cook hot links for about 10-12 minutes, or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

d) Remove the hot links from the pot and serve immediately.

Each of these methods adds its unique twist to preparing hot links. Experiment with different techniques or combine them – such as boiling the sausages first, then finishing them on the grill – to find your favorite way to cook these delicious sausages. No matter which method you choose, you’re sure to enjoy a tasty meal with a kick!
