Why the YouTube Vanced App Is Shutting Down

The YouTube Vanced app has become increasingly popular over recent years, offering users a way to enjoy YouTube videos without the annoyance of advertisements. Unfortunately, as of September 15, 2021, the app began experiencing issues, causing it to shut down completely.

It’s important to note that YouTube Vanced is not an official app from YouTube, but rather a third-party app that uses the YouTube API. This means that the app’s developers do not have direct access to YouTube’s servers and are essentially reverse-engineering the YouTube app. As a result, YouTube has been making changes to its API, which has caused problems for the third-party app.

One of the key issues YouTube Vanced users have been experiencing is that the app won’t open, with users getting a “Connection to server lost” error message. This issue seems to relate to the changes YouTube made to its login system, which has caused compatibility issues for the Vanced app. Unfortunately, the Vanced developers haven’t been able to find a solution for this yet, and it’s unclear whether they will be able to fix it.

Furthermore, YouTube has also been blocking the Vanced app’s ability to play videos, forcing users to revert to watching videos on the official YouTube app. This has caused significant frustration for users who have grown accustomed to the ad-free experience of Vanced.

It’s unclear whether the Vanced developers will be able to fix the app’s issues and bring it back online. In the meantime, users will need to find alternatives to enjoy an ad-free YouTube experience.

In conclusion, the YouTube Vanced app is shutting down primarily due to compatibility issues with YouTube’s API. Users will have to wait and see whether the app’s developers can find a solution to the problem. If not, it may be time to explore alternative ways to enjoy ad-free YouTube.
