Why Tekken Is the Best Fighting Game Franchise

Tekken has established itself as the premier fighting game franchise for several reasons that resonate deeply with its fanbase. Initially released in 1994, it has since then been a highlight in arcades and home consoles, with its latest incarnation, Tekken 7, keeping the legacy alive.

One of the main reasons why Tekken is considered the best is its expansive character roster. Each character is meticulously crafted with a unique backstory and fighting style. The diversity allows players to find a character that suits their playstyle and provides endless matchups and encounters that keep the game fresh and engaging.

Another point in Tekken’s favor is its deep and intuitive combat system. It is accessible for newcomers but also contains layer upon layer of depth for professional players. The 3D movement adds a level of complexity that distinguishes it from other 2D fighters. Players must not only master their combos and moves but also how to sidestep, block effectively, and counter enemies.

The storyline in Tekken is surprisingly intricate for a fighting game, stretching across generations with family feuds, corporate intrigue, and supernatural events providing a backdrop that seems more reminiscent of an epic saga than an arcade title.

Graphically, Tekken has always pushed the envelope. Each game in the series showcases stunning visuals and smooth animations that make each fight not just a battle but a spectacle. With every release, graphics have improved dramatically, making it a visual benchmark in contemporary gaming.

Lastly, the competitive scene of Tekken cannot be overlooked. World tournaments such as the Tekken World Tour showcase the best players from around the globe as they compete for glory. These events celebrate the game while constantly pushing its boundaries through high-level play which adds longevity to the franchise by engaging viewership and player dedication.

In conclusion, with its deep mechanics, expansive lore, diverse characters, stunning graphics, and vibrant competitive scene, Tekken continues to stand out as a titan in the realm of fighting games. Its consistent delivery on quality and innovation is what keeps fans eagerly anticipating each new chapter in this storied franchise’s history.
