What Is Hinge? The Dating App for People Who Hate Dating Apps

Hinge is a popular dating app that is designed for people who are tired of the swiping culture that dominates many other dating apps. Hinge markets itself as the dating app for people who hate dating apps and brings a different approach to online dating that is more focused on building authentic relationships.

The app began as a website in 2011, and has since grown to become a popular dating platform that is available on both iOS and Android devices. Hinge has been praised for its unique approach to online dating, with many users stating that the app sets itself apart from other dating apps by prioritizing meaningful connections over casual flings.

The app’s motto is “designed to be deleted,” which reflects the company’s mission to help people find lasting connections that don’t require the use of dating apps. The app’s design is also quite different from other dating apps, with a focus on user profiles that are designed to highlight the user’s personality and interests.

One of the key features of Hinge is that it encourages users to be more thoughtful when filling out their profiles. Unlike other dating apps that rely heavily on superficial features like photos and location, Hinge prompts users to answer detailed questions about their preferences and interests. This information is then used to match them with other users who are more likely to be compatible with them.

Another feature that sets Hinge apart from other dating apps is its “We Met” feature. After a user has gone on a date with someone they met on the app, they can use this feature to share feedback on their experience. This helps the app’s algorithm learn more about what users are looking for in a partner, and can also help other users make more informed decisions about their potential matches.
