What Are Twitch Channel Points? How to Set Them Up

Twitch Channel Points are a new way for streamers to reward and recognize their viewers for their loyalty and engagement on their streams. With Twitch Channel Points, viewers can earn points by watching or participating in a stream and use them to redeem rewards set up by the streamer.

If you’re a Twitch streamer, you can set up Twitch Channel Points for your viewers by following these steps:

Step 1: Turn on Channel Points

First, go to your Creator Dashboard and click on “Preferences” from the left-hand menu. Within the “Preferences” menu, select the “Channel” tab and scroll down until you see “Channel Points.” You can turn on Channel Points by simply toggling the switch, and then you can customize your reward settings.

Step 2: Customize Reward Settings

After you turn on Channel Points, you can start customizing the reward options for your viewers. Click on the “Channel Points” tab located in the “Preferences” menu and choose the “Rewards” tab to get started.

From there, you can create different rewards that viewers can redeem using their Channel Points. You can choose to offer simple rewards such as VIP badges or custom emotes, or more complex rewards, such as a private chat session with you or even a personalized Discord server invitation.

Step 3: Promote Your Rewards

Once you’ve created your rewards, it’s time to promote them to your viewers. You can use your stream overlay, chat, and social media channels to let your viewers know about the rewards you’ve set up.

It’s essential to explain the rewards clearly and make sure that they are engaging and valuable for your audience. You can also offer exclusive rewards for your subscribers to encourage them to stay subscribed and engage more deeply with your content.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
