Tinder has completely revolutionized the way people meet and date, but the novelty and excitement of swiping through profiles and chatting with potential matches can quickly wear off. If you feel like you’ve exhausted all possible matches on Tinder, don’t worry – there are plenty of other dating apps to try out that might better suit your preferences.

Here are some of the best free alternative dating apps to check out:

1. Bumble: Created by one of the co-founders of Tinder, Bumble is a popular dating app that puts women in control. Women have to make the first move when it comes to messaging, which can cut down on unwanted and inappropriate messages. Bumble also offers several different modes, including Bumble BFF for finding platonic friends and Bumble Bizz for networking.

2. Hinge: Dubbed the “anti-Tinder,” Hinge is a dating app that focuses on getting to know someone through their answers to prompts and questions. Users can “like” specific parts of someone’s profile, which can act as an icebreaker for starting a conversation.

3. OkCupid: Known for its thorough profiles and extensive questionnaires, OkCupid is a dating app that values compatibility matches over swiping through photos. Users can also answer specific questions about important topics like politics and religion, which can help find matches with similar beliefs.

4. HER: Designed specifically for the LGBTQ+ community, HER is a dating app that caters to women and non-binary individuals. In addition to dating, HER also offers social events and news content focused on queer communities.

5. Happn: If you’re tired of swiping through profiles of people miles away, Happn might be the app for you. Happn uses your phone’s GPS to match you with people you’ve crossed paths with in real life, making it easier to connect with someone who shares your interests and lifestyle.

6. Coffee Meets Bagel: This dating app offers a more curated experience by only showing users a handful of potential matches each day. To make the matches more personalized, Coffee Meets Bagel also asks users to fill out more detailed profiles and preferences.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
