This Is Actually the Best Way to Reheat Fries

Spread the love

Reheating fries can often lead to disappointment with a soggy, limp texture far from their original crispy glory. However, with the right technique, you can revive your leftovers to a state that rivals fresh fries. The best way to reheat fries is by using the oven or an air fryer, as these methods can restore the desirable crunch we all love.

To reheat fries in the oven, start by preheating your oven to 450°F (232°C). Spread the fries out in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil or a silicone baking mat. It’s important not to overcrowd the pan as this will cause steam and result in soggy fries. If they’re really greasy, pat them down with a paper towel before placing them in the oven.

Bake them for a few minutes, and then carefully flip them with a spatula to ensure even heating and crispiness. Continue baking for another few minutes until they reach your desired level of crispness—usually around 5-10 minutes total. Keep an eye on them to avoid burning.

Alternatively, for an even faster and arguably more effective method, use an air fryer. Preheat it to 350-400°F (177-204°C). Place your fries in the basket and heat them for 3-5 minutes depending on their thickness and how crispy you want them. Halfway through cooking, shake the basket or toss the fries with tongs to ensure they heat evenly.

With either method, adding some extra seasoning like cinnamon or garlic powder after reheating can also provide an additional flavor boost that compensates for any loss of flavor during storage.

In conclusion, while microwaving might be quicker and more convenient, it rarely delivers satisfactory results when reheating fries. Using an oven or air fryer will give you back that fresh-out-of-the-fryer taste and texture that makes fries so irresistible.
