As exciting as the new macOS Monterey update is, it doesn’t come without its fair share of problems. Users have been experiencing issues ranging from minor inconveniences to severe frustration, hindering their day-to-day work. In this article, we’ve compiled a list of the most annoying macOS Monterey problems and their solutions.

1. Battery Drain

One user complaint that has been making the rounds is increased battery drain. After updating to macOS Monterey, some users have reported a significant reduction in battery life. The issue is generally caused by power-hungry applications that run in the background. To solve this problem, go to the Activity Monitor and find the applications consuming the most power. You can then either disable those applications or close them when not in use.

2. Bluetooth Issues

Bluetooth connectivity has always been a bit of an issue with macOS. With the latest update, however, Bluetooth issues seem to have become even more prevalent. Some users have reported issues such as loss of connection, slow transfer speeds, or not being able to connect to Bluetooth devices. The solution to this is straightforward; you can try resetting your Bluetooth device, disconnecting and reconnecting the device, or reset your Mac’s Bluetooth module.

3. Wi-Fi Connectivity

Wi-Fi connectivity is another area where some macOS Monterey users experience issues. The issue could be due to a weak Wi-Fi signal, incorrect network settings, or outdated drivers. To resolve this issue, try restarting your router, check for firmware updates, or delete and re-add the affected network in your list of preferred networks.

4. Slow Performance

Some users have noticed their Mac running sluggishly after upgrading to macOS Monterey. A possible cause could be outdated applications, which may not be optimized for the new operating system. To solve this issue, try updating your applications or running the Disk Utility tool for a quick clean-up.

5. App Compatibility Issues

Apps that used to work perfectly on older macOS versions may not be functioning correctly on macOS Monterey. In some instances, the apps may fail to launch, crash or not run smoothly. To get around this, you may need to update the apps to the latest version or seek a compatible alternative.

6. Screen Sharing Issues

One feature that many people rely on is Apple’s screen sharing. Unfortunately, macOS Monterey has a few issues with this feature, such as screens freezing or an inability to receive a connection. To solve this issue, try restarting your Mac or updating the screen sharing application to the latest version.

In conclusion, the launch of a new operating system always comes with its share of problems, but thankfully, most of these are fixable. With these solutions, you can quickly troubleshoot the most annoying macOS Monterey problems keeping you from operating your Mac effectively. If after implementing these solutions, the problems persist, it’s recommended that you reach out to Apple Support for further assistance.
