The iPad 3 vs. the iPad 4: Which One Should You Choose?

Apple has always been known for its innovative and top-of-the-line products. Two of the most popular iPads from Apple are the iPad 3 and the iPad 4. These two devices are quite similar and yet have some differences that can make a big impact on your choice of which one to purchase.

Design

Both the iPad 3 and the iPad 4 have similar designs with a 9.7-inch display and a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. They also both have a sleek aluminum body that is lightweight and easy to carry around. However, the iPad 4 is slightly heavier than the iPad 3, weighing in at 652 grams compared to the iPad 3’s 652 grams.

Performance

The iPad 4 has a more powerful processor than the iPad 3. The iPad 4 is powered by an A6X chip, while the iPad 3 is powered by an A5X chip. This means that the iPad 4 is faster and can handle more tasks at once. The iPad 4 also has better graphics performance, which means that it can run games and other graphics-intensive apps more smoothly.

Camera

Both the iPad 3 and the iPad 4 have a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera. However, the iPad 4 has an improved front-facing camera that can shoot 720p HD video, while the iPad 3 can only shoot standard definition video.

Connectivity

The iPad 4 has a better connectivity option compared to the iPad 3. The iPad 4 has a Lightning connector, which is smaller and faster than the 30-pin dock connector found on the iPad 3. The iPad 4 also has better Wi-Fi performance, as it supports dual-band Wi-Fi and can connect to more networks.

Battery Life

Both the iPad 3 and the iPad 4 have a battery life of up to 10 hours of continuous use. However, the iPad 4 has a slightly larger battery than the iPad 3, which means that it may last a bit longer.

Price

The iPad 4 is a newer and more advanced device compared to the iPad 3, which means that it will cost more. The iPad 4 starts at $499, while the iPad 3 starts at $399.

Conclusion

Both the iPad 3 and the iPad 4 are great devices, but the iPad 4 is the better choice if you are looking for more power and better connectivity options. If you are on a tight budget, the iPad 3 is still a great choice, as it has a similar design and performance to the iPad 4, but at a lower price point. Ultimately, the choice between the two devices comes down to personal preference and budget.
