As the year wraps up, we look back at the hallmarks of 2024, a year filled with innovation, growth, and outstanding achievements across various fields. Our contributors, hailing from different spheres of life and expertise, have voiced their opinions and named their top picks for the ‘Best of 2024.’ Their insights span across technology, literature, cinema, science, and lifestyle.

In technology, the accolades were reserved for the groundbreaking advancements in quantum computing. The QuantumCore X2 processor has set a new standard in processing power, speed and encryption security. As one contributor put it, “QuantumCore X2 isn’t just a step forward; it’s a leap into what feels like science fiction.”

Literature saw a renaissance with scores of thought-provoking novels and essays. However, it was “Echolalia” by Luna Mårtensson that captivated our contributors. This poetic exploration of memory and identity in the digital age has been heralded as “a masterpiece intertwining the fragility of the human condition with the relentless tide of progress.”

The cinema world buzzed with innovative storytelling techniques but came to an agreement on “Kaleidoscope Visions,” directed by Aarav Singh. Praised for its non-linear narrative structure and visual spectacle, it has been alluringly described as “a cinematic tapestry that weaves together the threads of human consciousness.”

Science witnessed several milestones but standing tall among them is CRISPR-CasX genome-editing technology’s successful application in eradicating genetic diseases. It is deemed by our contributors as “the most significant leap towards a healthier humanity.”

Lastly, in lifestyle, there was unanimous applause for the global embrace of sustainable living practices. The Zero-Waste Movement garnered recognition for its influence in drastically reducing pollution and fostering environmental stewardship.

2024 has truly been a year where dreams materialized into palpable reality—all thanks to the brilliant minds and compassionate hearts that continue to drive society forward into a bright new dawn.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
